Barbies!

I'm obsessed with Barbies. My daughter and I went to Joann's yesterday and my mother's house and picked up a whole mess of fabrics and trims to make Barbie clothes. I have been studying up on YouTube and think I have figured out how to make most things. I'm firing up the sewing machine right now.

I was thinking about having a Barbie clothes blog hop. If ya'll are interested, I'll set it up and get some prizes and we'll have a rockin' Barbie kinda time.

I'm putting my STAMP on it...and giving away some stuff

Today is the day. 

The first day of the Put Your Stamp On It blog hop brought to us by Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt with our head cheerleader Thearica of Pig Tales and Quilts. Thanks for including me, ladies.

I knew the stamp I wanted to make right away - it had a paper airplane on it and it's an 88 cent stamp. 88 is my favorite number, so I wanted to show that in the stamp.

I had some charm squares that looked like lined notebook paper from Bungle Jungle and I used a square of Michael Miller Couture Cotton in Apricot for the main fabric (I can't tell you how much I love these solids. The colors are so buttery smooth...) I added the numbers with some hexies made from Zen Chic Comma mini charms and I free motion quilted the "air" swirling around the airplane. There are some motion lines that I hand embroidered, also. And here is the Airmail Stamp:

Ugh!

I promised myself to get some sewing in today. I've been sick and have also been watching my daughter and it is not so easy. (cry me a river, right?)
So! Today, my husband took my daughter to the children's science museum which she loves. I was not invited. I will stay home and do my sewing and not speak to anyone and try to recover my voice as it was lost somewhere...

 I got my Stamp block underway. I love it! I also got that albatross of a baby quilt (girl flavor) top finished. Yes! Now I just have to work on the baby quilt (boy flavor), finish my stamp block, finish my curvy block (and decide a use for that). I also want to make a sample block for the Simply Solids bee for next month - my month.

Okay, gotta get the dinner on.

Roly Poly. Blog Hop and more

Greetings!  I'm having a wonderful day today. I just purchased my first sewing pattern. The Roly Poly pinafore from imagine gnats. I'm really excited to make one five for Penelope. I know she will love wearing it, and it's so hot here, she shouldn't need to wear much else this summer. I'm thinking that and some shorts and she will be good to go. Plus, I can totally see this made in corduroy for the fall - how sweet will that be. I want to modify the pattern and make one for myself. We'll see if that happens.

I also signed up for the Stamp on it blog hop. I'm really excited about participating in this blog hop because the last one for April Showers was so much fun. I can't wait to start designing my stamp later.

New quilt

I got a little bit of sewing done this afternoon while Penn went to her Bubbe's house. I will need to leave to get in her in a few minutes. I think Miss Lulu enjoyed having me stay home with her today.

I had so much fun both doing the hop and the giveaway that I'm planning my next one. I hope that you will all come back and enter.

There were so many lovely comments about my April Showers mug rug that I'm feeling a little mug rug let down now. I have a few projects working, but I'm feeling a little less than inspired. Work is a little bit stressful, my pretty princess has been sick, we got a new (giant) puppy and sewing has not been something that I've wanted to do. I kinda wanna do this:

I started knitting some socks - something I usually love to do, but I hadn't made socks in a while and kinda forgot how. The second one will be much better.
